30 Day Yoga Challenge: Workout Day 15

Hi genies
Today I have decided to do a little yoga workout. Last year I completed the 30 Day Yoga Challenge by Erin Motz and every now and then I like to do one of her videos as a “workout warm-up” 🙂
Today I opted for Day 15:

#PA Update: Month 7

Hi genies
So here´s another little update for you! 🙂 This month I have been trying out a couple of “new” physical activities such as Bikram yoga which I really enjoyed. I have also been cycling a lot more than I usually do and it´s a fun way to get around quickly and get some exercise at the same time. I´m still running at least once a week, I know I wanted to push myself a little harder and run more often but I haven´t quite come around to that yet…so that´s still on my “to do” list 😉

This month I have also completed the 30 Day Abs Challenge and I feel like it has really helped me a lot! Due to the challenges (squats, abs, yoga, plank)I have completed over the course of these past few months, I have been able to strengthen my body and add short workouts into my daily routine. I squat, plank and crunch everyday – even if I just do one set it´s better than nothing!

I have also been good about not over-eating and making healthier choices – I rarely eat dairy products and substitute them with almond milk and soy yoghurt – and try to get as many vitamins as possible by making sure I have some veggies or a fruit with most meals.

Bikram Yoga

Hi genies
Yesterday I tried Bikram Yoga for the first time – and I don’t think I’ve ever sweat that much during a workout session in my life!

If you’re not familiar with Bikram Yoga, it is a yoga class that is taught in a room that is heated up to 40°C and you go through 26 different poses. In the class that I visited, we performed every pose twice and also practised two breathing exercises.

Although I was absolutely drenched in sweat by the end, my mascara hadn’t budged an inch! Amazing, right? 😉

Start The Day Right!

Hi genies

I started my day off with a nice yoga practice and I also got the exercises from the 30 Day Abs Challenge right out of the way. It’s amazing how much better you feel throughout the whole day when you know that you’ve already accomplished something and moved your body. My legs were quite sore from the squats that I do daily at the moment, so some yoga really helped with that. Even though I am nowhere near as flexible as I wish to be, I enjoy doing yoga and “connecting” body and mind…sorry if that sounds too hippie-ish 😉 haha
While you really have to focus on the pose you’re doing and your breath, you learn to live in the moment and let go of anything else. Just let it gooo, let it gooooo…

Sorry, I couldn’t resist…:)

30 Day Yoga Challenge

Hi genies
Yesterday I was browsing the interwebs and I stumbled across a Danish health and fitness blog (Click HERE to check it out). Coincidently, this blogger was going to embark on a 30 Day Yoga Challenge on the 21st of April and she was encouraging her readers to join her. So I thought, hey, why not?

I’ve been wanting to incorporate yoga more into my fitness regime anyway so this was perfect. Everyday you have to complete a 20 min session of yoga and all you have to do is follow a video on YouTube. Convenient, right? So if you feel like you want to join me, feel free to do so! HERE is the link to the first yoga session on Do You Yoga’s YouTube Channel!:)
