Bootie Love

Fall is creeping up on us and our feet are slowly but surely starting to freeze…so there is only one way to avoid that! Luckily, there is such a thing called “ankle booties” which is perfect for transitioning from summer to autumn. So yes, you heard right, it’s bootie shopping time 🙂

Here is a collection of ankle boots that I found on Shopbop and Asos. And even if you can’t really afford a new pair of autumnal footwear (like me!) it’s just as much fun to simply snoop around and have a look. 😉

For breakfast I had a bowl of chia seed pudding with fresh raspberries and a smoothie made of almond milk, mixed frozen berries, honey and some kale.

I love this stuff! Smoked salmon, a bit of cream cheese and onions on crisp bread.

In the evening I had red quinoa with a mixture of vegetables and a coconut milk based curry sauce that I adapted from the Detoxinista.

FEMINISM

After watching Emma Watson’s UN speech about Feminism and gender equality, I had to take a moment to myself just to appreciate how lucky I really am. I feel so privileged to have been born into my family and a world where my gender didn’t prevent me from getting an education and having a choice regarding what I want to do with my life. Although I have always been aware of the fact that gender inequality is still very much present “even” in the Western world, it hasn’t affected my personal opportunities or development greatly. So to think that in our supposedly educated and modern world women (and men!) still suffer from stereotypical expectations and thus the burdens, restrictions and limitations thereof, is just unbearable and incomprehensible to me. I hope that you, whatever your gender, skin colour, religious belief, sexual orientation, culture, heritage, etc. are embraced as who you are and given the opportunities that you deserve.

It’s that time of the year again…summer is over and the days are slowly getting colder, darker and grey…but fear not! At the same time, you can finally whip out those gorgeous berry and plum shades that have been slumbering in your makeup cabinet over the summer.

#PA Update: Month 9

Alrighty, time for another update!

As I mentioned in last month’s post, I wasn’t physically able to work out too much unfortunately, which definitely has set me back. However, I feel like this month I was able to think a little more about my journey, how far I’ve come and where I want to go. I have gained so much motivation through this process and I’m sooo ready to face the remaining three months head on! There’s a new goal that I want to pursuit after I have finished this project so that I will be sure to keep on going…so watch this space 😉

As I wasn’t feeling too well, I also let go a little bit of my healthy eating habits…which I am not proud of at all! But the last few days I have “refound” my excitement and passion for healthy food and nutrition in general and it’s amazing how much better I already feel after a couple of berry smoothies, grapes and avocados! 😉 I have also managed to squeeze in a few squats here and there to maintain my muscles and some long walks just to get moving a little more. So even though I haven’t been super active this month, I feel like mentally I have made a huge improvement and I’m more thrilled than ever to keep on going and give it my all!

Scrambled eggs with spiced with Provence-style herbs and some crispy bacon on the side? Yes, please! Not the worst way to get started with the day.

For lunch I whipped up a healthy salad consisting of avocado, sun-dried tomatoes, baby spinach, pine nuts, onion and pesto as a dressing. Sooooooo goooooood 🙂

I also had a handful of green grapes as a little “dessert”.

The last meal of the day was a dish made up of Thai noodles, various vegetables such as green beans, carrots, peas and spring onions, chicken and some egg.
