Heaven on Earth

Hi genies
For a while now I’ve been dying to go to Greece. The food sounds amazing, the weather is unbeatable and the many islands just look breathtakingly beautiful! Unfortunately, there’s no way I can go at the moment so I’ll just have to stay patient and satisfy my craving with some gorgeous pictures for now…;)

The BIG Black Dress…

One of my must-haves for summer is definitely a black maxi dress! It’s super easy to wear and comfortable and you don’t even have to worry about shaving your legs ๐Ÿ˜‰ You can dress it up or down depending on how you’re feeling and where you’re going. And if you don’t feel like putting an outfit together at all – a black maxi dress will look stylish all on its own!

For breakfast I had some muesli with nuts and dried fruit and blueberry soy yoghurt. At first I was a little disappointed because it wasn’t a crunchy muesli but I really like the taste of it, so all is well ๐Ÿ™‚

My lunch was made up of a crispbread topped with hummus and pesto and I also had some carrots that I dipped in the remaining hummus.

In the afternoon I got a little peckish so I had a handfull of walnuts and raisins.

Dinner was a little more naughty…I had 4 slices of freshly prepared pizza and a side of salad.

For breakfast I just had the usual, some rhubarb-strawberry soy yoghurt and some healthy muesli packed with fiber, raisins and dates and no added sugar.

My lunch consisted of this pasta salad that was topped with sun-dried tomatoes, peas, carrots, feta cheese and red pesto.

Dinner was so delicious! I had chicken wrapped in bacon and sage, ratatouille and some yummy brown rice.

I had tried to make a “healthy” cake – so I only used natural ingredients such as macadamia butter, almonds, flax seeds, cocoa powder and maple syrup. The texture didn’t quite turn out the way I wanted it to, but it tasted fine nonetheless.

#PA Update: Month 6

Wow I can’t believe I’m already halfway through this project! I mean where does time go?? I have definitely learnt a lot over the course of the last year and although I have made some big changes in my life, some of which have really affected how I feel in my body, I know that there is still quite a way to go.
Over the last six months I have been able to keep up my goal of running at least once a week, which I am very happy about. However, I really want to take it up a notch and get better at running rather than just “plateauing” (is that even a word? oh well, now it is ๐Ÿ˜‰ ) Luckily for me, I enjoy running while it’s raining or super windy…but as we are approaching summer, it gets hotter and the sun is out a lot more…which I’m not a fan of when it comes to running…so I either have to start running early in the morning or late in the evening to avoid too much heat and sun.

Something else that I have been doing this past month is yoga. After having completed the 30 Day Yoga Challenge I have really fallen in love with this form of exercise and I’m excited to witness further progress. I never thought that yoga was something for me as I found it quite annoying to keep track of your breath while exercising but now I love the whole “meditation” aspect of it and truly focusing on the pose you’re doing right then and there. I have also heard that when you put your mind into your workout and try to consciously feel the muscles your working out, you get a lot more out of your exercises and achieve better results faster.

As you may have seen in previous posts, I have also completed the 30 Day Squat Challenge and I still continue doing 200 squats daily. I can feel a huuuuge improvement in my thigh- and butt-area which is amazing! Now I have started the 30 Day Abs Challenge which hopefully will give great results as well.

Nutrition-wise I have been trying to eat more healthy meals without over-eating, which is sooo hard when food tastes really good…;) I have also been cutting down on my sugar intake so I only buy a small treat for myself every now and then and eat it right away…because when I know there is something sweet in the fridge or in the cupboard, I will eat it. So rather than beating myself up about it, I just try to work my way around it and find a solution that works for me.

So yeah, I’m pretty excited for the months to come and hope that in the end I’ll get to where I want to be…;)
